The Bull in Wanstead wanted to turn an underused outdoor space into a proper destination beer garden — somewhere guests would choose to spend the whole afternoon. We took it from a tired yard to a polished, hard-wearing hospitality space in four weeks, on a budget of around £38,000.
We began by pressure-washing every paver to bring the existing stonework back to life, then removed all the old planters and fully stripped out the standing area to start from a clean base.
A brand-new resin surface was then laid across the entire floor area — a clean, durable, low-maintenance finish that handles heavy footfall and looks the part in all weathers.
At the heart of the garden we built a raised composite decking stage in a warm cappuccino tone — a premium, contemporary finish that won't fade or rot — with the resin run right up to it for a seamless transition.
Finally, we built and fully fitted out an external kitchen, giving the pub a proper outdoor servery so they can cook and serve food easily through the busy months.
The garden is now open and trading brilliantly — a striking, practical space that's consistently busy with guests. The client was extremely happy, and it's exactly the kind of premium, end-to-end project we love to deliver.
